How We Price Concrete Work in Chicago
The prices on this site are ranges built from what Chicago-area concrete contractors and two Chicago cost models publish, each with its source and the date we checked it. They are not quotes: only the pro who sees your slab, your base and your access can price your job.

Where do the numbers come from?
From price pages that concrete contractors in Chicago and its suburbs publish, and for garage slabs from two Chicago cost models, all checked on September 17, 2026. Each range spans what those sources say, which is why a broom-finish driveway shows as $7–$15 per square foot rather than one number. The Chicago concrete price guide lists every source next to its row.
Why a range and not one price?
Because the published prices cover different work. One local driveway price of $13 to $16 per square foot includes tear-out, haul-away and sealing; another of $7–$15 is for new placement, with removal on top. A single number would hide that difference.
How often are the prices refreshed?
We recheck the sources and update a range when they change, and every change is dated on the price updates page. The current ranges were first published on September 17, 2026.
Why will my quote be different?
Your price depends on materials, your site and your circumstances. In Chicago the usual movers are the finish, the thickness and steel, whether the old slab comes out, a 4,000 PSI mix where road salt reaches (about $0.50–$1.00 more per square foot), a pump for alley-only access ($400–$800), and cold-weather work outside roughly May through October ($2–$5 per square foot).
Who can give me an actual price?
Only a pro who has seen the job. Send a request and our vetted local concrete pro will look at it and put a price in writing; how we vet our pros explains who that is.
